Fahrudin Pjanić: Why We Hid That Miralem Became a Father

Fahrudin Pjanić, father of Bosnia and Herzegovina national team footballer and AS Roma player Miralem Pjanić, told the Bosnian news agency Patria that Miralem's son Edin is already five months old, and that they kept this news a secret because they did not want any story to be constructed.

- We are overjoyed. Miralem has never been happier in his life. I don't know how we managed to keep such happy news to ourselves for so long, but we succeeded. I ask the public to understand us. We are traditional after all, and we did not want anything unforeseen to happen – said Fahrudin.

He adds that the name Edin was chosen jointly by Miralem and his chosen one Josefa, and that the parents did not interfere in the choice of name.

- I don't know if my grandson was named after Džeka – adds Pjanić with a smile, revealing that the baby is as calm as Miralem was as a baby.

Miralem's father also reveals that Edin hardly ever cries, even though his first teeth are just coming through.

- Edin doesn't cry at all. Miralem can get a good night's sleep and deliver excellent performances on the pitch, which we could see in the match against Sampdoria – said Fahrudin.

We recall that Pjanić played a fantastic match against Sampdoria, in which his Roma celebrated a convincing 3:0 victory. During this match, Pjanić twice superbly set up his teammates, and also scored a phenomenal goal from a free kick from almost 30 metres.

- Well, Miralem is a different person now. He dedicates every goal to his son – added Pjanić.
