Facebook group: Photos that serve as a reminder that there must be no forgetting!

Few people fondly remember the days of the Siege of Sarajevo and the aggression against BiH, but it is important not to forget what happened from 1992 to 1996, writes the Patria News Agency.

To prevent the horrors and atrocities experienced by BiH citizens from being forgotten, the Facebook page “Sarajevo Under Siege '92 - '96“ is dedicated to this cause, publishing wartime photographs, some of which you can see in the gallery.

The Siege of Sarajevo was an almost four-year blockade of Sarajevo during the Bosnian War. The siege began with the capture of the International Airport by the "de facto" Serbian Yugoslav People's Army on the night of April 4-5, 1992, and ended on February 29, 1996.

With 1,425 days, the Siege of Sarajevo is one of the longest in the history of modern warfare. The airlift to support hundreds of thousands of besieged people in Sarajevo also lasted longer than the Berlin Airlift.

During the siege, an average of 329 shells fell on Sarajevo daily. A record of 3,777 shells fired was recorded on July 22, 1993. The shells caused enormous damage, with civilian, cultural, and religious buildings suffering the most.
