Young Bosnian mathematician Adisa Bolić won a gold medal at the European Mathematical Cup, whose results were published over the weekend, reports the Bosnian news agency Patria.
Among more than 120 participants from secondary schools across Europe, a student of Una-Sana College in Bihać achieved the maximum number of points and valuable gold.
The European Mathematical Cup is organized by Young Gifted Mathematicians from Croatia. The tasks are done in the home countries under strict supervision of instructors, after which they are sent for evaluation to the headquarters in Croatia.
In addition to Adisa Bolić, excellent results were also achieved by Bosnian mathematicians Tijana Babić, Zlatko Salko Lagumdžija, Amar Kurić, Milica Babić...
Excellent results were also achieved by Demir Papić, Neira Kurtović, Milica Đukić and Adnan Kreho.
- I owe this success largely to my professors, former Olympians Beširević Admir, Hindija Harun and Hodžić Nermin, who taught me what I know about mathematics - says Bolić for Patria.
This is the first international competition in which Adisa Bolić participated, and therefore the gold medal holds even greater value for her.
