European Officials: Form Government As Soon As Possible and Solve Accumulated Problems

High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Catherine Ashton praised the high turnout in the elections in Bosnia and Herzegovina and called for the formation of a government and other institutions as soon as possible, reports the BiH news agency Patria.

- While we await the confirmation of the final election results, we hope for the swift formation of a government and institutions at all levels, in order to start solving the accumulated problems - Ashton said.

She praised the peaceful process and high turnout in the elections and thanked the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) whose observers monitored the voting. Special thanks were expressed to the Central Election Commission of BiH for its work and efforts in resolving election-related complaints.

A similar message was sent by Member of the European Parliament Edvard Kukan, who warned in his statement that BiH is lagging behind other countries in the region in terms of European integration.

- A lot of time has been lost, so the elected leaders must get to work as soon as possible, and by that I mean forming a government at all levels in BiH - Kukan said.
