European Parliament on Coronavirus, Financial Framework and Migrants at Turkey-Greece Border

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - Opening the plenary session in Brussels, European Parliament President David Sassoli said: "The decision to hold the session here in Brussels was made in the spirit and intention to continue the continuity of Parliament's work".
 
He added: "We must do everything, as much as possible, to ensure the continuity of the EP's legislative and budgetary functions, decisions to fight COVID-19, to support the preservation of jobs and the economy which are severely affected. We must also continue working on the Green Deal, immigration and the Multiannual Financial Framework. All of this requires us to stay and work".
 
Sassoli concluded that “they must respect the parliamentary mandate and pay tribute to all those in Europe and around the world who are carrying out their daily duties to combat the spread of the coronavirus".
 
Therefore, the Conference of Presidents and an extraordinary meeting were held on Monday, and the agenda was changed.

The March session will be held only on Tuesday, 10 March.
 
From 9 a.m. to noon, the agenda will include reports from the Council and the Commission on the coronavirus outbreak, the situation and ensuring a coordinated European response to the health, economic and social effects.
 
At 3 p.m., statements by the Council and the Commission on the conclusions of the special meeting of the European Council of 20 February 2020 on the Multiannual Financial Framework will be delivered.
 
This will be followed by statements by the Council and the Commission on the migrant situation at the Greek-Turkish border and the EU's joint response to it.
