SARAJEVO, (Patria) - European Commissioner for Neighbourhood and Enlargement Oliver Varhelyi will visit BiH next week.
During his visit, he will discuss the current political situation with political leaders in BiH.
Varhelyi held meetings with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of BiH, Bisera Turković, this week.
The interlocutors frankly discussed the situation in Bosnia and Herzegovina and the consequences of blocking reform processes and the functioning of state institutions.
It was emphasized that the European path has no alternative and that it is clear how the European Union, together with international partners, can contribute to a stronger engagement in the region.
On Monday, November 15, the EU Council of Foreign Affairs held a discussion on the situation and political crisis in BiH, but without concrete conclusions. Although sanctions against Milorad Dodik, president of SNSD, have been mentioned for some time due to the unilateral withdrawal of competencies from the state to the entity, as well as the blocking of state institutions, there is still no unified voice from the EU regarding sanctions.
