Europe introduces border and coast guard and secures external borders

Will a border guard be introduced between Croatia and BiH? The European Parliament's Committee on Civil Liberties is discussing and will vote today on the Commission's proposal to establish a European border and coast guard, in order to further secure the EU's external borders. The guard would unite the external border agency Frontex and national border administrations, which would then intervene jointly, writes Patria.

The first discussion on the proposal for a common list of safe countries of origin is being held on May 30 in the Committee on Civil Liberties.

The Committee will vote on the introduction of standardized travel documents for foreign citizens staying illegally in member states, and on the expansion of cooperation regarding the exchange of data on criminal offenses of foreign nationals between member states. Therefore, whoever wants to enter Europe must know that their criminal records, if any, will follow them.
