Foreign exchange markets reacted strongly to the results of the referendum in Greece, where the demands of international creditors were rejected, and at the beginning of today's trading, the euro fell by 1.5 percent and touched the level of 1.0967 dollars, which is the lowest exchange rate in the last month, reports the Patria News Agency.
After the initial shock, the euro began to recover and returned above 1.10 dollars per euro.
The price of the euro also fell sharply against the Japanese yen, which speculators perceive as a safe haven during disruptions in the foreign exchange market, and the euro fell to 135.45 yen, while at the end of last week the euro exchange rate was 136.50 yen.
There was also a fall against the Swiss franc, and at the beginning of trading, the euro fell to 1.0320 francs, but later recovered and returned to last week's level of around 1.04 francs.
