Euro-Asfalt and ŽGP Complete Works on Sarajevo Bypass

A consortium of domestic companies consisting of "Euro-Asfalt" doo and "ŽGP", as the most favorable bidder, has been selected to carry out works on the Sarajevo Bypass project, which will include Lot 2a and Lot 2b, announced Euro-Asfalt, as reported by the Bosnian news agency Patria.

According to the executive director for design technology and construction organization, Euro-Asfalt engineer Munir Ramić, works on Lot 2a include the construction of the Briješće viaduct, demolition and construction of a new bridge on the M17 road over the railway line in Briješće, as well as the Briješće roundabout.

- In addition to these works, the project will include the reconstruction of several local roads. Lot 2b involves carrying out works on the final asphalt layer from the Stup interchange to the roundabout in Briješće. The total value of all mentioned works including VAT amounts to 23,300,000 KM - said Ramić.

- This project will resolve long-standing traffic congestion on the section of the M17 road from Jošanica to the Stup interchange. Upon completion of these works, the Sarajevo Bypass will be fully completed. The leader of the consortium "Euro-Asfalt" together with its partners will apply technological and organizational measures to minimize traffic congestion during the execution of works - said Ramić, adding that only domestic construction personnel will be engaged on this project.

The deadline for the execution of works is 11 months from the day the consortium, led by "Euro-Asfalt" doo, is introduced to the job, states the announcement from the Euro-Asfalt public relations service.
