EURO 2020 Iceland spoiled Portugal's plans

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - In the first match of Group 2 of the European Handball Championship, the Icelandic national team defeated Portugal 28:25. 

The Portuguese started the match poorly, but they improved by the end of the first half, and at the 30-minute mark the difference was two goals. 

In the second half, the score was level, but Iceland broke the match in the last seven minutes and secured the victory. 

For Portugal, Rodrigues was better than the rest with four goals, while for Iceland, Smarason scored six times, and Palmarsson, Petersson, and Sigursson each scored five goals. Goalkeeper Gustavsson also contributed to the win with 12 saves.

In this group, Slovenia - Hungary and Sweden - Norway are still playing today.
