EUFOR increases number of soldiers ahead of elections: 95 Britons arriving

Great Britain has sent an additional 95 soldiers to the EUFOR military mission in Bosnia and Herzegovina, at the request of the operational commander of Operation ALTHEA and Deputy Supreme Allied Commander Europe Adrian Bradshaw, reports the BiH news agency Patria (NAP).

The British Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirmed this information, stating that the soldiers will help preserve security and stability in BiH for the next six months, including, as emphasized, the election period.

- Their deployment to BiH is a strong sign of the continuous support that Great Britain provides to Bosnia and Herzegovina, and it proves our commitment to the important role that the Althea mission plays. The increase in the number of soldiers will enable EUFOR to better anticipate instability and respond quickly, within its executive mandate – the statement from official London reads.

The additional 95 British soldiers will join the six officers who were already in BiH, and together with the reserve forces of Great Britain, which can be quickly activated, they constitute the country's participation in EUFOR. The European military mission in BiH has about 600 soldiers from 22 countries, Patria reports.
