EUFOR continues to support BiH Armed Forces: Joint exercise Quick Response 2016 in October at Manjača

 

Minister of Defence of BiH Marina Pendeš today held a meeting with the Commander of EUFOR in BiH, Major General Friedrich Schrötter, during which EUFOR's support to the Armed Forces of BiH and the upcoming exercise Quick Response 2016 were discussed, the BiH Ministry of Defence announced, reports the Patria News Agency.  

General Schrötter informed Minister Pendeš about the activities of EUFOR forces in supporting the Armed Forces of BiH in the training process and achieving the necessary standards for the compatibility of our forces with NATO and EU forces.

On this occasion, Minister Pendeš thanked General Schrötter for the support that EUFOR provides to the defence institutions of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and the interlocutors then exchanged information about the upcoming joint exercise of EUFOR and the Armed Forces of BiH titled "Quick Response 2016", which will be held in early October at the BiH Armed Forces training ground Manjača in Banja Luka.

The Minister expressed full support for the joint activities carried out by EUFOR and the BiH Armed Forces and emphasized that every exercise, including this one, is the best way to test and practically apply the achieved capabilities of our soldiers, non-commissioned officers, and officers.

The meeting also discussed the potential participation of the Armed Forces of BiH in European Union forces' activities, in accordance with the Agreement on Establishing a Framework for BiH's Participation in EU Crisis Management Operations, which Minister Pendeš signed on behalf of our country with the High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy of the European Union, Federica Mogherini, the statement reads.
