
(Patria) - EUFOR announced this evening that it is committed to providing assistance to the citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina during this period and emphasized that it is making its help available to local authorities.
"Upon request of the civil protection authorities of the Ministry of Security of BiH, EUFOR will provide logistical capacities to assist the authorities in dealing with the aftermath of the floods.
EUFOR will provide the possibility of transporting goods and equipment to flood-affected areas. We will also enable the authorities to transport people from affected locations.
EUFOR will implement this assistance in coordination with civil protection and the European Emergency Response Centre.
EUFOR will also be ready to deploy teams to assist in the removal of mines or unexploded ordnance displaced by the floods.
We will continue to maintain our operational capabilities to ensure ongoing support and assistance to our local partners in maintaining a safe and secure environment," EUFOR stated.
