(Patria) - The EUFOR Main Command issued a statement today, stating that "the interpretation of the military aspects of the Dayton Peace Agreement is the responsibility of the mission, which has an executive mandate from the UN Security Council".
"EUFOR continuously monitors and assesses the security situation. EUFOR's mandate, granted by the UN Security Council, includes ensuring the preservation of the territorial integrity, sovereignty, and political independence of BiH and that domestic actors act in accordance with these fundamental principles, as prescribed by both the Dayton Peace Agreement and UN Security Council resolutions.
EUFOR, Operation 'Althea', is ready and committed to fulfilling its mandate impartially. EUFOR, as part of the EU's integrated approach, aims for a stable, sustainable, peaceful, and multi-ethnic Bosnia and Herzegovina, which is irreversibly on the path to EU membership," the EUFOR statement said.
