EUFOR: We are fulfilling our duty to support a secure and stable environment

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - EUFOR confirmed today that the UN Security Council unanimously approved the extension of EUFOR's mandate for another 12 months (UNSCR S/RES/2604(2021).

"This means that EUFOR will continue to support local authorities in maintaining a secure and stable environment, in close cooperation with law enforcement agencies and the Armed Forces of BiH. With the renewal of EUFOR's mandate, the international community has also sent a clear message of support and trust, recognizing the results that Operation Althea has achieved in the past 17 years, especially EUFOR's contribution to maintaining peace and stability in BiH.

EUFOR is ready to continue performing its duties and fulfilling all its tasks in order to support a secure and stable environment in accordance with its mandate and with one hundred percent commitment to BiH, its citizens, and the country's progress on the path to EU integration.

This also includes support for BiH's Master Plan for ammunition, weapons and explosive ordnance, demining, and collective training with the Armed Forces of BiH, which, as a multi-ethnic and capable armed force, help restore citizens' trust in a stable and secure BiH," EUFOR announced.
