EUFOR has an obligation to prevent traffic obstruction on the entity line

(Patria) - The Party of Democratic Action most strongly condemns the call by the authorities of the RS entity for today's gathering of citizens on the entity line and the 30-minute traffic obstruction.

"With this act, not only are inter-ethnic tensions raised and the security situation in Bosnia and Herzegovina jeopardized, but the Dayton Peace Agreement, i.e., the Constitution of Bosnia and Herzegovina, is also directly violated, which stipulates that entities shall not impede the full freedom of movement throughout Bosnia and Herzegovina.

We call on EUFOR to react in accordance with the mandate prescribed by the Dayton Peace Agreement, which, among other things, obliges them to prevent the obstruction of civilian movement. Otherwise, they will bear responsibility for the violation of the Agreement and all potential negative consequences of this act, the SDA statement reads.

They emphasize that restricting movement is a criminal offense prescribed by the Criminal Code of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and call on the Prosecutor's Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina to prosecute all those responsible for this unconstitutional and illegal act, should traffic across the inter-entity line be obstructed.
