The European Commission has information that Roma were discriminated against during the distribution of humanitarian aid after the catastrophic floods in Bosnia and Herzegovina, according to a report by the Department for Humanitarian Aid and Civil Protection of the European Union (ECHO), reports the BiH news agency Patria (NAP).
According to the report, various sources have confirmed that there was discrimination in terms of protection, and that it concerns the Roma minority. However, it was not specified where the discrimination occurred or in what way.
Also, in this official document, it is stated that the citizens of BiH also need psychological assistance, because, in a way, the catastrophe in the floods has re-activated war traumas, reports NAP.
The ECHO report highlights the needs that BiH has for international assistance, and provides basic information about the unprecedented natural disaster that hit our country.
