EU presented a project worth 16 million euros for the development of the private sector in BiH

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - The "EU4Business" project (European Union for Business) worth 16.1 million euros was presented at the headquarters of the EU Delegation in BiH.

The project supports the development of the private sector in Bosnia and Herzegovina and will last until 2022.

Head of the European Union Delegation to BiH Lars-Gunnar Wigemark emphasized that the project relates to local entrepreneurs and students, as well as to initiating agricultural development and tourism. 

German Ambassador to BiH Christine Hohmann said that the project is an ideal opportunity to promote BiH products.

- The project will last until 2020 and will include a large number of tenders, and individuals engaged in some craft, planning to start something similar, or organizations wishing to strengthen their work can apply - stated Brigitte Heuel-Rolf, Director of GIZ (German Society for International Cooperation) for Bosnia and Herzegovina and Montenegro.

Direct beneficiaries of financial support will be domestic companies, farmers, entrepreneurs, and fast-growing firms.

In the period from April 2018 to March 2022, the European Union (15 million euros) and the Federal Republic of Germany (1.1 million euros) are co-financing this project, and it is implemented by GIZ, UNDP, and ILO in cooperation with domestic institutions.
