EU: Support for EUFOR and the High Representative

SARAJevo, (Patria) - The EU Delegation commented after the UN Security Council extended the mandate of the EUFOR mission. 

"We welcome the extension of the executive mandate of Operation Althea in accordance with the resolution of the United Nations Security Council. EUFOR continues to be an important element in strengthening security and stability in Bosnia and Herzegovina, which are the basic prerequisites for progress on the reform path towards the EU. Through EUFOR, the EU remains committed to supporting BiH in maintaining a secure and stable environment.

The EU reiterates its full support for the High Representative, his mandate and authorities. We look forward to continuing good cooperation with the Office of the High Representative on the remaining conditions/goals of the 5+2 agenda. The EU will continue to support the country in fulfilling the 14 key priorities from the European Commission's Opinion on BiH's application for EU membership," the EU Delegation announced.
