EU on Dodik's trial: Respect the BiH Court's verdict

(Patria) - The European Union (EU) yesterday commented on the upcoming delivery of the first-instance verdict against RS President Milorad Dodik and acting director of the "Official Gazette of RS" Miloš Lukić.

"The EU expects all political actors in Bosnia and Herzegovina to respect the Court's verdict and recognize its independence and impartiality," stated the EU press service in a written response to RSE.

The EU points out that they acknowledge the verdict of the BiH Court in the proceedings against Dodik and Lukić and understand that it may be subject to appeal.

Brussels called on all relevant actors in BiH to refrain from actions that deepen divisions and create tensions.

The verdict against Dodik and Lukić, accused of disrespecting the decisions of the High Representative of the international community in BiH Christian Schmidt, is scheduled for February 26.
