Escobar: Serbs should return to BiH institutions, people's needs are above self-enrichment

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - The special US envoy for the Western Balkans, Gabriel Escobar, is currently visiting Kosovo, where he also commented on the current political situation in Bosnia and Herzegovina in talks with Kosovo media. He emphasized that corruption and the current crisis in BiH affect all constituent peoples and simultaneously hinder the country's economic development and prosperity.

- Dayton has maintained peace for 25 years, and the United States remains fully committed to the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Bosnia and Herzegovina. The US will continue to exert pressure for a diplomatic solution to the political crisis and the return of Bosnian Serb parties to state institutions," he stressed.

Escobar pointed out that the US should continue to act in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

- Instead of spending time meeting with corrupt officials, I would prefer the US to spend our energy raising awareness of the great talent and economic potential of Bosnia and Herzegovina. I hope that politicians will agree that focusing on the needs of their people is more necessary than gaining political points or striving for self-enrichment and personal profit," he concluded in an interview with Reporteri.
