Escobar didn't waste time, America is arming Serbia

The United States of America (USA) has delivered 66 light armored Humvee vehicles (HMMWV – High Mobility Multipurpose Wheeled Vehicle) to the Serbian Army, procured through a direct commercial contract with the American company AM General.

According to the Balkan Security Network portal, this is the first tranche of a total of 118 vehicles ordered.

The US Embassy in Serbia's Instagram channel states that the vehicles are at the barracks in Pančevo and will be used, among other things, for participation in international peacekeeping missions.

This news did not surprise those who are well-acquainted with the situation, especially after the hearing of Gabriel Escobar in the US House of Representatives where he spoke about the Western Balkans.

The Deputy Assistant Secretary of State of the USA faced uncomfortable questions, especially regarding Serbia and Aleksandar Vučić.

“We would like to see more American and European companies importing weapons into Serbia,” said Escobar.

It seems we did not have to wait long for US companies to start acting, which will help Escobar further protect his favorite, Vučić.

“These are not just American vehicles, this is NATO standard. When you see with whom the Serbian Army is deployed in peacekeeping missions, and partners in Lebanon are Spain and Italy, and in Sinai it is the USA, what we have in common is the NATO standard. Owning such vehicles allows Serbia to be part of any peacekeeping mission around the world, to react quickly, and to be deployed side-by-side with its partners,” states the US Embassy.

And while Kosovo is being punished in such a way that "Defender Europe 2023", the largest military exercise of NATO allies in the Balkan region, ends without Kosovo, American leniency towards Serbia continues.

Anyone who listened carefully to Escobar's testimony will remember well that he spoke in such a way that it could be concluded that Kosovo canceled its participation in the "Defender Europe 2023" exercises, which is a lie, with which Escobar wanted to portray Albin Kurti as uncooperative and unwilling to cooperate.

And the hypocritical policy of the US Administration can also be read from the part of the statement where they say that the latest arms procurement for Serbia not only enables it to be effective in peacekeeping operations around the world, but also that it is an “excellent first step” in achieving interoperability with the US Army.

Therefore, the exact same narrative as with Vučić. It's just a question of how Serbia, which no one is attacking, is guarding peace, while this country is known as an aggressor and aspirer to neighboring countries, both to their territorial integrity and sovereignty, as evidenced by Bosnia and Herzegovina and Kosovo.
