Esad Duraković: Political vultures over BiH

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - If the situation in BiH and its prospects are to be judged by the diplomatic activity taking place these days in BiH, as well as in the world concerning it, then optimistic conclusions could be drawn about those prospects, writes academician Esad Duraković in a column on the N1 portal.

Among other things, the academician states, "The Croatian President recently rushed to Turkey to discuss important internal issues of BiH with President Erdogan; recently, Prime Minister Plenković also wandered around BiH; the European Parliament Resolution on BiH has just been adopted; Izetbegović and Vučić are even going to Turkey together; the three-member Presidency is going to Brussels for talks these days; not to mention the impressive speeches and conclusions of the English lords..."

"It is impossible to shake off the impression of very complex and intensified diplomatic activity that could give hope to the population of BiH after a quarter of a century of neither-war-nor-peace, but rather suffering, that ethnic division, which has led to antagonism all this time, will finally be overcome (overcome does not mean forgotten), and that Bosnians and Herzegovinians will settle into the blessings of society, which primarily means enjoying life-saving civic values. However, after all the hardships we are going through and in the face of threats of new blockades and paralysis of society and the state for the sake of the triumph of so-called ethnic values and priorities (which is a terrible deception!), one must remain cautious, even skeptical," writes academician Duraković.
