Eric Nelson arriving in Sarajevo: I am coming to support the younger generations because they are the future of BiH

(Patria) - Former US Ambassador to BiH, digital transformation expert Eric Nelson is returning to Sarajevo soon.

Nelson is coming for the 4th edition of the Futures Leaders Summit, organized by the Future Foundation in BiH (BHFF), which begins on December 13th.

Nelson will address the BiH public at the official opening ceremony of the Summit. As one of 25 global leaders in science, technology, and diplomacy, he will give lectures to over 200 students from all over BiH.

- I look forward to returning to BiH and having the opportunity to meet and support young citizens who are dedicated to building a better future in their country. I am grateful to BHFF for the invitation to support their efforts - said Nelson.

He emphasizes that the people of Bosnia and Herzegovina are its greatest resource, and that no one has greater potential than the younger generation.

- Their imagination and determination are key to building a better future, one in which not only EU values focused on citizens prevail, but also EU standards.

Investing in the ability of young citizens to be leaders is of vital importance, and I am proud that the leadership development program we launched at the US Embassy, Bosnian Youth Leaders (BOLD), is now expanding throughout the Western Balkans region - adds Nelson.

He notes that, unfortunately, the progress of political leaders across the Western Balkans in implementing reforms is so slow that many talented citizens decide to emigrate.

- I welcome the opportunities to support and encourage young people who say, I love my country and I want to build a better future here - emphasizes Nelson.

He conveys that, by believing in one's own actions, our ability to positively influence our community and country is important.

- Through education, exchange, and mentorship opportunities, many young people discover and strengthen their potential. Their reserves of resilience and adaptability can make them successful anywhere, and applying those skills at home is what will create a better future for BiH - concluded Nelson.

Let us recall, this year's theme of the Summit is "From BiH to the World: Leadership in Research, Technology, and Entrepreneurship", with the aim of opening paths for generations of change-makers who will transform Bosnia and Herzegovina into a prosperous nation.
