
(Patria) - SDA President Bakir Izetbegović spoke today by phone with the President of the Republic of Turkey and Chairman of the AK Party, Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
Erdogan extended congratulations to Izetbegović on the successfully held SDA Congress and his election as President of the SDA.
On the other hand, Izetbegović informed Erdogan about key developments related to the SDA Congress, as well as the Party's preparations for the upcoming local intra-party and Local Elections in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
They also discussed current developments in Bosnia and Herzegovina and the region.
Erdogan informed Izetbegović about his meeting with the President of the entity of Republika Srpska, Milorad Dodik, at the last AK Party Congress, where he emphasized that Turkey stands firmly with a unified Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Bosniak people, and that it is ready to engage even more strongly in easing relations in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
They also discussed the ongoing Israeli attacks on Gaza. Erdogan noted that he was satisfied with the response to the emergency OIC Summit held in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the agreement reached, which will enable coordinated aid to the Palestinian people.
It was noted that there is a noticeable shift in the attitude of the world public towards the violence that Israel has been perpetrating against Palestinians for 75 years, as confirmed by mass rallies of support for the Palestinian people being held around the world.
Izetbegović expressed the expectation that Islamic countries will engage more strongly in stopping Israeli attacks on Palestine and the massacre of civilians, and then in finding a lasting solution that will finally stop the violence in that area.
