Entities are obliged to fully respect the Constitution and laws of BiH!

(Patria) - The Steering Board of Ambassadors of the Peace Implementation Council discussed political developments, including acts adopted by the National Assembly of Republika Srpska, the OHR announced.

"Reiterating the recent statements of international partners in support of the Dayton Peace Agreement, the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as strongly opposing all actions that would jeopardize the security and stability of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the members of the Steering Board condemned the adoption of conclusions and decisions in the National Assembly of Republika Srpska on February 26, and laws on February 27.

Through these activities, the ruling coalition in Republika Srpska seeks to destabilize institutions that exercise state constitutional powers, in accordance with the laws of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the constitutionality of their establishment having been confirmed by the Constitutional Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Entities are obliged to fully respect the Constitution and laws of BiH. The members call for an immediate cessation of all activities that jeopardize the Dayton Peace Agreement and the constitutional and legal order of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

These activities are contrary to the obligations undertaken by Bosnia and Herzegovina on its path to EU membership.

The members further emphasize the importance of using all domestic legal instruments to protect the constitutional order of Bosnia and Herzegovina. Leaders should fully focus on achieving progress, including progress on the path to the European Union, with all the benefits that this entails for the citizens of BiH," the statement of the High Representative and the Chairperson of the Steering Board of the Peace Implementation Council emphasizes.
