Enis Kahrimanović created the first online system for learning the Bosnian language!

Bosnian Enis Kahrimanović, who lives and works in the Netherlands, is the creator of the first online system for learning the Bosnian language called „Uči bosanski,“ reports the Bosnian news agency Patria (NAP).

Young people from Bosnia and Herzegovina facing the problem of insufficient knowledge of the Bosnian language want to make it easier for everyone in the diaspora to learn and gain as much knowledge as possible about their mother tongue and culture. He tells NAP that through the associations that gather, he saw the need for quality improvement of knowledge about the Bosnian language.

- I came up with the idea to create, together with the team Interaction Without Borders (IWB), an interactive online system for learning the Bosnian language and refreshing knowledge about the Bosnian language. This system is not based solely on the reading method, but also includes a large amount of interactive content that will motivate users to gain as much knowledge as possible - said Kahrimanović.

One of the goals of this system is for young people aged 15 to 35 around the world to become familiar with the culture of Bosnia and Herzegovina. The need for active work in this area is also indicated by the Ministry of Human Rights and Refugees of Bosnia and Herzegovina in the document „Overview of the State of the Bosnian-Herzegovinian Diaspora“.

- Language is the guardian of history and its connection with the culture of the country where it is used is inevitable. One of the key recommendations is to support the organization of supplementary classes in mother tongues in European countries. The system for learning the Bosnian language called „Uči bosanski“ was released to the public on June 27, 2014. This first edition contains lessons in the fields of phonetics, phonology, and orthography. In the coming period, we will expand the system with lessons in morphology and lexicology, and later in the field of syntax - explains Kahrimanović and adds that eight people from Bosnia and Herzegovina and abroad participated in the creation and development of the online system for learning the Bosnian language.

Kahrimanović emphasizes that he will establish contact with institutions in Bosnia and Herzegovina that want to support this project, as well as other associations from the Bosnian diaspora.

- We invite organizations and sponsors to join us so that together with users we can enable them to learn the Bosnian language or refresh their knowledge of the Bosnian language in the best and most affordable way - he said.
