Energoinvest Realizes Valuable Project in Congo

Energoinvest d.d. Sarajevo is successfully implementing a project for the installation and commissioning of telecommunications and radio equipment in Africa, in Congo, with the World Bank as the investor and the end customer being SNEL – the Electric Power Company of Congo, announced Energoinvest, as reported by the Bosnian news agency Patria.

- This is a project of national importance for the electrification and interconnection of remote regions and cities in this African country. Energoinvest's Engineering sector for Information and Telecommunication Technologies (ICT) has already successfully implemented projects of this type in the period 2008 – 2014 in our traditional markets of Libya and Kosovo, and is currently carrying out similar ones in Algeria and Albania. By opening the market of so-called Black Africa, the business has been expanded to another important market and region where we currently have the largest investment trend in the power sector. It is significant that this is a turnkey project, on the one hand logistically very challenging, and on the other hand a multidisciplinary and combined project involving the construction of telecommunications, radio systems, uninterruptible power supply systems and alternative power supply with solar panels, CCTV, alarm and fire protection systems, and the final implementation of remote control and signal transmission over power lines - they state from this company.

The total value of the project and works that Energoinvest d.d. is currently implementing in Congo is over 2,000,000 euros.

It is important to note that this is an African country with a large area and a population of over 80 million inhabitants, with one of the worst road communications and power systems in the world. In addition to the demanding and difficult terrain, implementation is hampered by climatic conditions and subtropical diseases.

Over 30 people are actively working on the ground, including a dozen Bosnian citizens, representatives of Bosnian companies, six subcontractors, and representatives of the investor. Energoinvest d.d. Sarajevo, as a European company, operates with subcontractors, and the implementation of the project is further complicated by the fact that Bosnia and Herzegovina has no diplomatic representation in Congo.

How significant this project is for Congo is evidenced by the fact that electricity for public use in a large number of cities comes once a week, and thus the need for lighting is enormous.
