(Patria) - That unprincipledness and servility have no limits has once again been demonstrated by the leaders of the Trojka, as seen from the published minutes of the meeting of the presidents of the coalition parties at the state level with Milorad Dodik in Bakinci, because they agreed to the overturning in the House of Peoples of the already adopted Law on Amendments to the Election Law of Bosnia and Herzegovina at the end of December last year in the House of Representatives, which strengthens the integrity of the electoral process and introduces so-called new technologies, says state representative Jasmin Emrić (NES).
"In this way, the leaders of the Trojka, besides showing who is the real boss of their coalition to whom they must go 'cap in hand' when he calls them, are humiliating their own representatives who supported the technical amendments to the Election Law of Bosnia and Herzegovina, devaluing institutional work, and introducing the practice of agreeing on the most important decisions outside state institutions on the private estate of the main advocate and promoter of the idea of dividing the state of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
I am not surprised that Čović and Dodik are devaluing the already adopted technical amendments to the Election Law of Bosnia and Herzegovina in the House of Representatives, because they did not even support them, but I am surprised by the leaders of the Trojka who, with their characteristic sycophantic style, allow themselves to be, for who knows how many times, led by the nose by the aforementioned duo.
It is inconceivable to me that the Trojka does not see how their partners in government are actually just buying time to prevent the announced intervention of High Representative Christian Schmidt to introduce the integrity package into the electoral system," says Emrić.
He further states that if Dodik and Čović truly wanted to improve integrity and introduce new technologies into the electoral process, they would continue the legislative procedure in the House of Peoples for the already adopted amendments to the Election Law, and possibly influence the adopted text of the law in the House of Representatives of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina during the amendment phase.
"So, it seems to me that this is yet another fraud in a series, from this state coalition, where under the guise of 'finalizing the Election Law of BiH,' as Čović says, his demands for legitimate representation and placing the members of the Central Election Commission of Bosnia and Herzegovina under full control through the announced new method of election will actually be fulfilled.
I remind the Trojka of the statement by High Representative Christian Schmidt after his intervention on the Election Law on election night on October 2, 2022, when he stated that for him, the 'Ljubić' case was legally concluded, i.e., that the Decision on Admissibility and Merits number U 23/14 of the Constitutional Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina upon the request 'Ljubić' had been implemented.
I am surprised that the leaders of the Trojka did not keep this in mind when, at Dodik's 'modest' estate in Bakinci, they agreed to the demolition of institutions and the division of the state by advocating the HDZ's proposal for the election of members of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
In the content of this agreement, elements of the latent introduction of a 'third entity' are recognized, and the stated formulations for the election of members of the BiH Presidency, such as: 'candidate from the Bosniak people' and 'candidate from the Croatian people,' deepen discrimination on ethnic grounds, and I reject the proposed model with indignation.
This agreement 'Trojka-HDZ-SNSD' from Bakinci, which announces the introduction of an asymmetric solution into the constitutional system of Bosnia and Herzegovina to ensure Dragan Čović an electoral unit from which only his candidate for member of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina could be elected, represents a 'betrayal' of the principles of equality and equal value of the vote, and strengthens the ethnic division of the state and society.
Therefore, in order to prevent further ethnic divisions and exclusive political representation, this anti-democratic and anti-state plan 'Trojka-HDZ-SNSD' from Bakinci must be condemned, challenged, and its implementation in the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina prevented," concludes Emrić.
