Emotions, tears and pride: Golden boys welcomed at Sarajevo International Airport

The Bosnia and Herzegovina national sitting volleyball team, silver medalists at the Paralympic Games in Rio, arrived at Sarajevo Airport on the fifth day of their return from this competition, where they were met with a very emotional welcome, and tears were unavoidable, writes the BH News Agency Patria.

The BiH national team won the silver medal at the 15th Paralympic Games, and lost to the Iranian national team 3:1 (25:21, 21:25, 25:18, 25:15) in the final. They routinely defeated other opponents with 3:0, and their only two losses were against the Iranian team. 

Coach Mirza Hrustemović said that the goal was achieved by reaching the final, and our volleyball players gave their maximum.

Captain Sabahudin Delalić gave a particularly emotional speech, expressing through tears his great thanks to Benis Kadrić, who, despite being hospitalized due to two blood clots, managed to prepare for the Olympics and played in the match against Iran, scoring several important points. 

In their five Paralympic appearances to date, BiH volleyball players have won two golds, in Athens 2004 and London 2012, while they won silver medals in Sydney 2000 and Beijing 2008, as well as in Rio de Janeiro.

In addition to Paralympic medals, BiH's most successful sports team is a nine-time European and three-time world champion.
