Emine Erdogan organizes "United for Peace in Palestine" summit in Istanbul, attended by Željko Komšić's wife

(Patria) - The wife of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan will host a summit in Istanbul on Wednesday with the participation of special representatives and wives of world leaders, including Sabina Komšić, the wife of the Croatian member of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Željko Komšić.

The deaths of more than 11,000 people, including children and women, in Israeli attacks on the Gaza Strip since October 7 have prompted the wives of leaders, led by the First Lady of Türkiye. At the initiative of the wife of President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, Emine Erdogan, it was decided that the wives of leaders would gather in Istanbul to send a message to the world for the innocents in Gaza.
The First Lady Erdogan, who has stated on every occasion that she is always ready to do whatever can be done to reduce the loss of innocent civilian lives in Gaza and bring peace to the region, will this time host a gathering in Istanbul with the participation of special representatives and wives of heads of state and government from many countries around the world.

After the opening speech by the First Lady of Türkiye, each participant is expected to deliver a speech at the meeting.

Wives of leaders will send a message from Istanbul

The meeting, which will be held tomorrow at the Presidential Office in Dolmabahçe under the auspices of the First Lady, will be attended by guests from many countries around the world, including Qatar, Malaysia, and Uzbekistan. The meeting will show strong solidarity to end the suffering of civilians in Gaza and find a solution to the crisis.

The First Lady of Türkiye led the "Women's Meeting for Peace in Palestine" in Istanbul on January 10, 2009, when her husband, President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, was the country's prime minister.

The meeting, attended by many wives of leaders from countries in the region, was held at a time when Israeli attacks on Gaza intensified and approximately 800 people were killed in two weeks. At the meeting, Erdogan read the text "Call from Istanbul to Support Gaza" from the podium, and the text was unanimously adopted by the leaders' spouses.
