(Patria) - Elektroprivreda BiH made a decision on October 31 to award a contract for the supply of 400,000 tons of brown coal with transportation for the needs of the Kakanj Thermal Power Plant to the company Lager d.o.o. Posušje.
The total estimated value of the procurement is 54,036,000 KM excluding VAT, writes Istraga.ba.
Two companies participated in the tender - Novi rudnik mrkog uglja "Miljevina" d.o.o. Foča and Lager. It was determined that Rudnik Miljevina Foča does not meet the criteria.
US Ambassador to BiH Michael Murphy criticized the company Lager during his visit to Sanski Most in April.
- What is happening around the waterfall in the protected zone is worrying. It is a private company that is excavating coal in a way that harms local communities, pollutes water, violates its own concession agreements, and does so outside the scope of permitted work - Murphy said at the time.
