Elektroprivreda BiH: Total collapse of the power system in BiH, restoration efforts underway

(Patria) - On 06/21/2024 at 12:25 PM, there was a total collapse of the power system in BiH.

Although the exact reasons for the system collapse are not yet known, it is assumed that the cause was overloading on the interconnected 400 kV transmission lines in the Region, their failures, and the transfer of disturbances to the BiH system.
 
Activities are underway to restore the system, supply voltage to hydroelectric and thermoelectric power plants, and coordinate activities with the system operator (NOS BiH) to connect high-voltage grid facilities in BiH and link them with neighboring systems.

The collapse of the power system was caused by an imbalance in the transmission network of Elektroprijenos BiH. Energy balancing is carried out by NOS BiH.
