Ekoakcija files criminal charges against the Government of Sarajevo Canton and ministers for revoking the wind corridor decision and endangering health

(Patria) - Ekoakcija has announced the filing of a criminal complaint against responsible persons in the Government of Sarajevo Canton, ministries and institutions of Sarajevo Canton for undertaking a series of actions whose ultimate goal was the revocation of the ban on high-rise construction in Sarajevo's ventilation corridors.

The complaint will also cover the failure to take measures and activities defined by the Decision on adopting a plan of emergency measures in cases of excessive air pollution in Sarajevo Canton, which led to a direct threat to the health and lives of Sarajevo residents.

We remind that in 2021, the Government of Sarajevo Canton, with votes exclusively from ministers of the NiP, adopted a decision to abolish wind corridors, which was confirmed by the Sarajevo Canton Assembly in February of this year.

18 representatives voted for this decision, one was against, four abstained, and 11 did not vote at all.
