Eco Corner: Using Waste in a Different Way

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - The association “Green Art” and the Ministry of Spatial Planning, Construction and Environmental Protection of Sarajevo Canton (MPZ KS), in cooperation with the Elementary School „Vladislav Skarić“ and director Meho Pirić, are implementing the project “Eco Corner”, with the aim of drawing attention to the problem of packaging waste accumulation. 

"We turn waste into art, giving it a new use value. We have turned PVC caps into a means of artistic expression, and through concrete actions we reduce the accumulation of waste – explains Alma Hrasnica, president of the Green Art association.

The project emerged as a result of several years of work by the Green Art association and MPZ KS on marking the “European Week for Waste Reduction” (EWWR). The presentation of the project „Eco Corner“ will be held on 06.03.2019. on the plateau in front of the BBI Center from 12:30 to 16:00. 

At the workshops, swans, cockerels, ladybugs, and brook trout were made from packaging waste, with the aim of drawing attention to their endangerment from packaging waste. Visitors will be given educational material about waste and how to properly manage it according to the 3R principle: recycling, reduction, reuse.
