Teams on the ground, parts of Sarajevo still without electricity

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - Due to adverse weather conditions, the electrical facility of Elektroprijenos BiH substation Sarajevo 10 (Reljevo) was flooded, which led to the disconnection of the entire 110 kV high-voltage system to prevent a major failure.

This procedure left substations 110 kV Sarajevo 10 (Reljevo) and Sarajevo 8 (Azići) without 110 kV power supply. Given that substation Sarajevo 10 is a key hub for the 110 kV network, the 110 kV power system in the City of Sarajevo and the 110 kV system of the Višegrad loop became overloaded, causing intermittent power outages for customers in the City of Sarajevo.

Elektroprijenos BiH teams are on the ground and making every effort to normalize the 110 kV power supply to the City of Sarajevo as soon as possible.

JP Elektroprivreda BiH - Branch "Elektrodistribucija" Sarajevo teams are making maximum efforts to connect as many substations as possible to the power grid, taking into account the permissible load on the 110 kV system.

Currently, the biggest problem is the supply to the Ilidža Municipality area.

Areas of Bjelašnica towards Grepko, Babin do, Visojevica, Bakije sokak, Kabalovo, part of Otes, Riverina, and part of Pazarić are currently without electricity, while another part of Pazarić is supplied alternatively.

As traffic communications are difficult or almost completely blocked, we appeal to our customers for patience and increased caution due to the danger of new overhead line failures. All available electrical installation teams are on the ground and, despite the extremely difficult conditions, are working to eliminate reported faults.

In the Kiseljak Municipality, Central Bosnia Canton, more than 1200 customers are without electricity, having been preventively disconnected due to water ingress into the transformer station.
