Exotic guests from Pančevo landed in Sarajevo

(Patria) - Hans and Daisy, exotic parrots from Pančevo, have arrived in Sarajevo, and their owner Damir Kapetanović tells Patria that raising these wild, exotic animals requires, above all, love.

 

"This is primarily love, and then a hobby," says Kapetanović, who arrived in Sarajevo with his son Vukša and the parrots for ćevapi from Neum.

In the only seaside town in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kapetanović showed off his children Maša and Vukša's pets.

"I am generally involved with reptiles. These are predators: crocodiles, snakes... We enjoyed ourselves in Neum. We socialized and worked, presenting our pets publicly. All visitors and tourists had the opportunity to see a piece of nature and this beautiful exoticism," says Kapetanović.

He explains that there are a few breeders in Serbia where one can find and get this beautiful animal as a chick.

"It is necessary to hand-raise them to establish the connection needed for further proper interaction," adds Kapetanović.

How tame this fascinating parrot is is reflected in the fact that it does not fly far from its owner. They have also learned to talk, but they only do so when they feel like it.

"When he is in the mood, he talks; he is most talkative in the morning with coffee," points out Kapetanović.

Damir is particularly proud of his Burmese python.

"I am a breeder and caretaker. As for reptiles, they need an artificial tropical climate to bring them as close to the wild as possible. Of course, for the animals to be social, daily interaction and handling are needed for taming and socialization.

Personally, Burmese pythons are among my favorites. That is my greatest passion. They are destined to survive all possible conditions. They were on this planet before us, and they will be after us. That is fascinating to me," says Kapetanović.

Finally, he emphasizes that he is very satisfied with the hospitality and new acquaintances in Neum and that he will return to the Bosnian sea next year.
