(Patria) - The leader of the Party for BiH and Mayor of Novi Grad Municipality Sarajevo, Semir Efendić, spoke today on the show Rezime on Federal Television about the processes in BiH and the FBiH entity, as well as plans for the upcoming Local Elections.
Everything will be the same
Commenting on the report that High Representative Christian Schmidt will present to the UN Security Council, Efendić assessed that the High Representative's emphasis on the dramatic nature of this moment is nothing special, but the question is why he is not doing anything to prevent it.
- Perhaps the High Representative's rhetoric is more dramatic than in previous reports. The question arises, what is the purpose of such reports? The first High Representative is tasked with preventing what he is talking about - Efendić points out.
He notes that for 13-14 years, we have always had the same story - obstructions from RS and reduced efficiency at all levels of government because the mechanisms in our Constitution are designed in such a way that the state cannot fulfill its obligations.
- After all, the High Representative has not done what is up to him. Previously, High Representatives dismissed politicians, which has not happened for a long time, and the consequence of this is the situation we have - Efendić believes.
He also commented on the statements of the leader of the smaller BiH entity, Milorad Dodik, that if the Resolution on the Genocide in Srebrenica is adopted, nothing in BiH will be the same anymore.
- I think everything will be the same, and what Dodik is saying is just part of the campaign against the adoption of the Resolution, which he and Aleksandar Vučić are jointly conducting, trying to intimidate the international community and numerous countries by convincing them - if the Resolution is adopted, something will change.
It will not change our Constitution, nor our legislation, nor the balance of political forces in BiH. It will change more on the international level - that July 11th is accepted as the date for commemorating genocide worldwide.
This huge campaign against the Resolution shows two things - the uncivilized attitude of Serbia and RS, and proves that they, then and today, are responsible for the genocide.
The fact that they are not ready to accept court rulings shows a big difference between them and those who made today's Europe.
European values are the recognition of genocide and an apology, and what we have today are genocidal values that RS is trying to cultivate - Efendić emphasizes.
According to him, secessionist moves from RS are happening because BiH institutions are not doing their job.
A Big Task
- That is why we called on the Armed Forces to be ready for any move by Dodik that would lead to the disappearance of BiH. They act last. Before them, the judiciary and police agencies should act.
And here we come to a problem, all that has happened in the last 14 years, this period coincides with the absence of SBiH from state and federal government structures.
This is a time when all institutions have been significantly weakened. They have been taken over by politics - mainly by those led by HDZ and SNSD.
We only have one court proceeding, and that is according to the Law passed by the High Representative. Police agencies at the BiH level are left to be managed by SNSD personnel - adds Efendić.
He believes that it is difficult to expect such institutions to do their job and calm the situation in the country.
- And not for us to wait for what the international community will do. We have a big task in the future period - first to understand that those who hold power today are not capable of doing it, to reach those political forces that will restore strength to the institutions of BiH.
Institutions are not doing their job, they are accountable to parties, not to the state and citizens. But when we understand where the problem is, we will solve it more easily. If we return the institutions to where they belong, then we will not worry about whether the international community's reaction is good or bad - says Efendić.
The past year since the government was formed, the leader of SBiH continues, could be described as a mandate that the locusts ate.
- It would be good if they cause as little damage as possible, and leave as soon as possible. The entire coalition has shown that their only goal is power.
This meeting is I don't know which one in a row. I don't understand why they are even informing the public about such meetings.
They are generally without results, they have meaning until the government is formed, when the institutions are formed - let the parliaments and governments convene. The country is not run like that - he explained.
Efendić also touched upon the work of the FBiH Parliament, emphasizing that the only issue on which that parliament spent a year was the appointment of a Constitutional Court judge.
- HDZ is nominating Marin Vukoja, who has a political background, although the law defines it differently. This is the methodology of HDZ's work, they do not want anything else until their demand is met.
They did not even agree to replace the Speaker of Parliament, who resigned at her own request. HDZ conditions the formation of the leadership of the House of Representatives with the appointment of a Constitutional Court judge.
We know how this majority was formed, how Kenan Uzunović changed his political views and parties in the last few moments, and part of that trade on which this Government was formed will be his appointment to the leadership of the parliament - stated Efendić.
In the end, he announced that he remains a candidate for the mayor of the Sarajevo Municipality of Novi Grad.
