(Patria) - The announced increase in electricity prices has come into effect. Thus, BiH citizens who use the services of Elektroprivreda BiH will pay 10 percent more for electricity.
However, such an increase will not occur in households that use electricity from Elektroprivreda HZHB.
The head of the Party for BiH, Semir Efendić, spoke about the increase in electricity prices, as well as other current topics, tonight on the show "7plus" on Hayat Television.
- It could have been different. The consequences of the imposed government's inaction will be painful. Is it possible that there is no responsibility for the loss? The only way for the government to save itself in such a situation is to raise the price of electricity.
Could this not have been resolved in another way, as it was in previous years - by increasing the export price. To save what has been done, the government is turning to the citizens.
What was a great incentive for export was the favorable price of electricity. This way, the price will be the same as in the EU, so we will have to import electricity.
Also, coal production is decreasing, and all this is happening only in Elektroprivreda, while HZHB operates at old prices - says Efendić.
The Party for BiH was part of the negotiations to enter the government. However, due to its principles and some proposals that were not accepted, they did not become part of the ruling coalition.
Efendić says that they signed an agreement that is not being implemented today and that citizens will have insight into this agreement to see how much of what was agreed upon has not been done.
- The situation in the energy sector is terrible. We, as a party, were motivated to be part of the government. Precisely because of this, we signed this program which lists projects, such as Block 7 but also Block 8. None of this is happening.
They signed some principles with Čović, and we will provide citizens with what we signed to see what should have been done. New facilities should have been built, investments made in newer energy sources.
Precisely because we are dependent due to significant imports, we had a power outage recently. It is interesting that they managed to do this in a short time. A chain reaction will inevitably follow - emphasizes Efendić.
There are numerous projects in the energy sector that the Party for BiH proposed during discussions for the formation of the government. That is why they were offered the Ministry of Mining and Energy of the FBiH, where they could implement their projects.
However, Efendić points out that the Trojka (the coalition of SDP, NiP, and NS) was interested only in power from the beginning and that they are, in a way, subordinates of the HDZ leader Dragan Čović.
- We saw that they don't know what needs to be done. They were only interested in entering the government. We saw that Čović is the boss. What we proposed was not important.
They told us at one meeting that they would support Vukoja. In that sense, they were listening to Čović. If we had taken over the ministry, we would not have been able to work there.
At every session, approvals are given for the implementation of these projects for HZHB or for some private entity close to the HDZ.
There is also a project by EP that was stopped by Naša stranka due to some rare animal that someone saw on Vlašić. That's how it is with every attempt to do something new - concluded Efendić.
