(Patria) - I don't think we should have formed a government with Milorad Dodik while he has such rhetoric towards the state. Expecting anything other than this is truly absurd.
The leader of the Party for BiH, Semir Efendić, stated this today while guesting on N1 television, emphasizing that the decisions of High Representative Christian Schmidt show that BiH has not built an institutional system that can react.
- I think the opposition's goal is different from Dodik's in RS, among other things, to confront him with the international community. I wouldn't be worried about this at all if Bosnian forces had a different approach.
Our country's security system is not capable of implementing its decisions. Unfortunately, when it comes to a flagrant violation of both the Constitution and the law, it shows that an institutional system capable of reacting has not been built - Efendić assessed.
Referring to Schmidt's latest decisions, he said that "reacting to such a violation of the Dayton Agreement without sanctions was not really to be expected".
- To react to such a decision by merely annulling it... The fact that 28 years after the signing of Dayton, the High Representative is still reacting to elementary issues shows that the system of establishing institutions in this country has failed - Efendić assesses.
He also says that the Court and Prosecutor's Office could have reacted multiple times by now, but adds that our institutions were created under political control of appointments, even in areas where personnel should not have contact with politics.
- Why our institutions are paralyzed is the most important question at this moment. I must quote something Dodik said in Konjic, which is that "RS institutions have the capacity to implement any decision at any time", while BiH institutions do not.
And they don't, unfortunately, because, among other things, he and others like him have been allowed to install their personnel in the most important positions in the security and other sectors, and they do this, of course, by pursuing separatist policies within those institutions - Efendić says.
He is of the opinion that we are going in the wrong direction, given that 28 years after Dayton, the only possible solution is for the High Representative to do something.
- The same High Representative who violated the Constitution of FBiH two months ago. All of this is happening because we are going in the wrong direction. This strengthening of every ethnic factor in decision-making is actually leading us to further blockades - assesses the leader of the Party for BiH.
When asked if he thinks Dodik has Serbia's support for his actions, he recalls that the president of SNSD and RS has had several referendums.
- This is just a phase towards the final goal, but I think there is full coordination between RS and Serbia. Serbia is simultaneously conducting processes in Serbia and Kosovo. What worries me most of all is that Bosnian and Bosniak politics have an articulated approach from the beginning and are not so naive - Efendić told N1.
Finally, he touched upon the recent meeting in Konjic between representatives of the "trojka" and delegations of SNSD and HDZ, led by presidents Milorad Dodik and Dragan Čović.
- This meeting in Konjic a few days after the adoption of the law in the National Assembly of RS is an attempt by Dragan Čović to calm things down. It was helping Dodik, creating relaxation and calming things down - added Efendić.
