Ef. Velić: Extremists and hired mercenaries will not disrupt our unity

Two days after the incident in a Sarajevo mosque, when young men wearing T-shirts with the ISIL flag interrupted the Friday prayer, Muhamed ef. Velić also spoke out on his Facebook profile, writes the Patria news agency.

We publish his comment in full:

-In the past two days, many people have called me, many muftis, muderrises, head imams, imams, congregation members, generally people from the Community, but also many outside the Community.

Everyone expressed sincere support but also concern regarding the complex situation. I am sorry that many will bill this to anyone with a longer beard. That is a danger we must guard against. We must preserve the unity of our saff and our entire congregation at all costs.

Institutional teaching (Islamic Community), our religious practice and tradition must be respected and preserved.

God willing, these Kharijites and extremists, and we are talking about individuals, hired mercenaries and highly criminal persons, will not disrupt the unity of our saff and the beauty of our congregation.

Bosniaks, let us move forward with Allah's help! Let us be together, preserve our congregation and our homeland! Because a good and united congregation is a condition of our existence! Allah's hand (mercy) is above the congregation, Ef. Velić concludes.
