Ef. Kruško: We need Bayram joy to survive

The joy of Ramadan Bayram was felt yesterday in the Municipality of Maglaj. The Bayram prayer was led by the chief Maglaj imam h. Izudin ef. M. Kruško in the full Kalavun Gazi Jusuf-pašina mosque (Kuršumlija mosque), writes the BiH news agency Patria.

After the prayer, a Ramadan-Bayram sermon was also held. On that occasion, ef. Kruško told the believers that the people of Maglaj are witnesses to the truth that this earthly world is only a fleeting pleasure.

-       Seventy-two days ago, we were struck by a severe trial of catastrophic floods, with the scale of a natural disaster. And after suffering and misfortune, grief and pain, Ramadan came to us as a spiritual balm for our wounds and pains, which we are now saying goodbye to. And now Bayram is here, a shared joy that unites the faithful and the servants of the Merciful, connecting Earth and Heaven. Allah, subhanehu we te'ala, shows people that every adversity and difficulty brings hope for a better tomorrow, which is confirmed by the words: "For indeed, with hardship [will be] ease; Indeed, with hardship [will be] ease;" (Quran, Inshirah, 5-6) – said ef. Kruško.

Among other things in the Bayram sermon, ef. Kruško sent a message to the gathered congregation, emphasizing that after the holy month of Ramadan, a struggle awaits in the remaining 335 days to strengthen Islamic community, popular solidarity, and national unity.

-          We sincerely hope that through our patience during the days and nights of Ramadan, after the great trial of the floods, we have realized the meaning of life, after the loss of property and many blessings, like the leader of the patient, Hazrat Ayyub, 'alejhis-selam, we have patiently endured pain, suffering, grief, and hardship, hoping for a way out, help, and recovery – stated ef. Kruško.

The traditional Bayram reception was held on the plateau of the courtyard of the new city "Vali Recep Yazicioglu" mosque. Numerous residents of Maglaj gathered once again and shared the joy of Bayram with their relatives, friends, and neighbors.

-          We are also here to wish our homeland, Maglaj, and the local community in which we live, peace, prosperity, success, development, a swift recovery after the trials of floods and landslides, and progress. We need Bayram joy to survive. In the blessed joy of Bayram, intolerance becomes love, anger turns into gentleness, arrogance is lost in humility, and selfishness turns into generosity – said ef. Kruško.

He emphasized that we must especially "remember those to whom we owe the most for the salvation of faith, our beloved homeland, and Maglaj, all the surviving knights, ghazis, and defenders, those who gave their health, parts of their bodies for our freedom and peace, and especially the martyrs, fallen soldiers, and civilian victims of the war, who gave their lives for us."

Precisely because of this, today on Martyrs' Day, the people of Maglaj will visit the Martyrs' Cemeteries, recite Fatiha, and pay due respect to the fallen soldiers/martyrs. At 4:00 PM, the Martyrs' Memorial in Rječica will be opened as part of the renovated mosque and built minaret, writes Patria.
