Ef. Kavazović: Let us restore broken family and friendship ties!

Reisu-l-ulema Husein ef. Kavazović sent a Ramadan message today to all believers in Bosnia and Herzegovina, reports the Bosnian news agency Patria. 

- According to the Takvim of the Islamic Community in Bosnia and Herzegovina, tonight after the akšam prayer, the blessed month of Ramadan will begin – said ef. Kavazović.

- When we see the light of the oil lamps on our minarets at akšam, it is a sign that the dearest guest has arrived, the blessed Ramadan, the month of our repentance and Allah's forgiveness. The month in which the Holy Qur'an was revealed, without which this world would be a vast and endless desert – said Kavazović.

The Reisu-l-ulema of the Islamic Community in Bosnia and Herzegovina urged believers to open their hearts and souls. Let the nur that illuminates worlds only in it enter them. Let that light melt the layers of harshness and coldness within us, ignite the dormant ember of faith and obedience, let it stir waves of tenderness and compassion towards the closest and dearest, but also towards the unfortunate and needy. 

- Let every corner of this homeland of ours and all the places where our good people live be filled with nur! Let the darkness of inhumanity leave everyone, and let humanity, compassion and solidarity shine. Let that Ramadan energy strengthen and solidify us in our intentions to do good and spread good – Kavazović urges.

- Brothers and sisters, many of our families will spend this Ramadan in collective shelters, with their relatives and friends, or in their inadequate homes threatened by floods and landslides. Their experience of Ramadan will not be the same as ours, who have been spared the ordeal of losing our homes. We must not forget this, nor, God forbid, neglect it. 

Let every believer today issue a call to themselves: Let us renew our faith through Ramadan repentance!

Through fasting, prayer, sadaqah and zakat, through kind words and charity, let us strengthen our humility before the Power of the Creator and our devotion to following His guidance!

Let us restore broken family and friendship ties and strengthen our fragile community!

Let the strength of our fasting soften our hearts and let us do everything so that our brothers and sisters emerge from the troubles that recently befell them strengthened, not broken!

In the days and nights of Ramadan, let us strengthen our connection with the Qur'an and its wise messages.
