Edin Pobrić resigns as President of PEN BiH

Professor Doctor Edin Pobrić has resigned as President of PEN BiH. When asked about the reasons for his resignation from this position, Edin Pobrić, also a professor at the Faculty of Philosophy in Sarajevo, answered very briefly:

"I do not wish to comment on that."

The PEN organization in BiH has been shaken by various scandals for years. PEN BiH has been unable to form a quorum and function normally for years. This only confirms that all sorts of things are happening within the walls of PEN. Nothing has been coming out to the public from this organization for years.

It is an international association of writers, poets, essayists, screenwriters, and playwrights. PEN advocates for freedom of speech, language rights and preservation, defense of intellectuality, fights against all forms of prejudice, and defends writers against repressive policies worldwide. It is shocking that PEN BiH, which is a kind of conscience of society, has no transparency even in its own work. What right and reputation does it then have to operate in public?
