Džumhur: I am happy because I am playing at the highest level

After excellent performances at tournaments in the USA, the best BiH tennis player Damir Džumhur returned to Sarajevo, writes the Patria News Agency.

Upon his return to BiH, Džumhur held a press conference where he spoke about his recent successes and future plans.

- I am very satisfied with the consistency. I played against players who are ranked higher than me, and I have played against many of them before. I am happy that I am at the highest level. All of this has also reflected on my ranking on the ATP list. You always have ups and downs. Sport is like that, and I think I can maintain this level of play until the end of the year. The most important thing is that there were no injuries – said our best tennis player.

Džumhur added that after the American tour, he plans to play six or seven more tournaments by the end of the year.

- I will definitely play three tournaments in Asia, specifically in China. After that, Moscow, Vienna, and Paris follow. I took a little rest because I think I need it, but I will start training again on Monday.

- I am registered for the tournament in St. Petersburg in two weeks, and I am still not 100 percent sure if I will go. I think it's a good thing that there is a chance to be a seeded player in St. Petersburg for the first time, so perhaps that opportunity should be taken. If I feel well, I would like to play all tournaments until the end of the season. Vienna is the only tournament where I am defending points, which are not large anyway, so I have a good chance to be in the top 50 at the end of the season. If there are some other good results, it can be achieved – stated Džumhur.
