Džumhur: I have secured Roland Garros and Wimbledon and it will be much easier for me to play in the rest of the season

Damir Džumhur achieved another great victory at the Masters in Miami. In the third round, our best tennis player defeated Mikhail Kukushkin 2:1 in sets after almost two hours of play, reports the Patria news agency.

- It was a tough match both mentally and physically, I knew that but I was ready for it. Kukushkin plays a completely different tennis from Nadal, and his style didn't allow me to play well in the first set. However, I managed to find my game in the second, and there were many long points, a lot of running, quite exhausting points, but that was how I had to play to beat him – says Džumhur.

He adds that Kukushkin has a very strange game, but once he got used to his shots, it was easier to play.

- Mentally, I was strong again and I managed to win the next two sets after losing the first, which I sometimes lacked before. Now that is also in place and it is much easier for me to play – emphasizes Džumhur.

In the fourth round, Džumhur will play against Milos Raonic, who said he knows little about Damir and that he will analyze his game.

- Next is Raonic and I don't expect anything special. I want to enjoy this moment and this tournament. This was the most important tournament of the year and honestly, I never dreamed it would turn out like this. With these points, I have secured Roland Garros and Wimbledon and it will be much easier for me to play in the rest of the season – added Džumhur.
