Džumhur: I'm Still Thinking About the Match Point Against Zverev

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - Bosnia and Herzegovina's top tennis player Damir Džumhur held a press conference today where he reviewed the season so far and also signed a new contract with BH Telecom.

The Bosnian tennis player noted that he has experienced many ups and downs already this season, which has not even reached its halfway point.

- The season so far has had ups and downs; the season is long and it's hard to maintain consistency. The start of the season was good until the tournament in Marseille when I got sick. The fever lasted about ten days. I played tournaments with a fever and made that period harder for myself. I came to Indian Wells unprepared because of the illness I had, and that also affected Miami.

When I physically recovered, it was hard to find a rhythm, I didn't have many matches, and I was also lacking confidence. However, I came back in Madrid and since then my form has been rising, but then came tough draws – Del Potro, Nadal, Zverev…

I think I started playing well again; the results will come. So too at Roland Garros. Although he is young, Zverev is achieving incredible results. Against him, I showed that I can compete with the best. I still think about the match point I had against him today. I'm trying to forget that match and focus on the upcoming matches - said the Bosnian tennis player.

He also touched on the Davis Cup and the play-off match against Japan.

- The most important match for all of us in the Davis Cup team. I must say it's a tough draw. We can compete with everyone on the court, even if Nishikori plays. They are not invincible, but maybe it's more because we are playing in Japan and the time of year when it is played.

My schedule will be incredible then. After the US Open, I return to Europe, then fly to Japan. We are there for seven days, then I return to St. Petersburg. Then after seven days, I travel to China where I will have three tournaments. For that reason, it will be a very tough match. I hope we will give our best performances and enter the World Group, which would be a huge result for our sport - said Džumhur. (Sportcentar).
