Džumhur: Edmund is a good player, but the Australian heat might suit me better

Our best tennis player Damir Džumhur will play against Kyle Edmund in the first round of the Australian Open, reports the Patria news agency.

On that occasion, Džumhur himself spoke, saying that as far as the draw is concerned, it is certainly good when you avoid seeded players in the first round, so from that side he can say the draw was favorable for him.

- However, I also want to note that Edmund is really a good player. He is young and has a bright future ahead of him, and he is already achieving good results. He is in good form and it will not be easy at all. I expect a very tough match, given that we will probably play on Monday in +36, so the weather conditions will also be very difficult. Still, I believe the heat will suit me more.

For now, I am preparing really well and my wish is to transfer the game from practice into the match, and if I manage to do that, then victory should not be in question. I trained with Edmund in Doha and he is a very solid player. Against him, I will have to play with a lot of long points and if I manage to calm him down, I could turn the match in my favor – says Džumhur.
