Funeral for the Ribić sisters: The youngest Almasa was four, and the oldest Zlatija only 13 years old

On Sunday, January 17, 2016, at the Skočić cemetery near Zvornik, after the afternoon prayer, starting at 2:15 PM, the funeral prayer and burial of the mortal remains of sisters Zijada, Zlatija, Suada, and Almasa Ribić will be held. They were killed as civilians in the mass crimes committed on July 12, 1992, in this area, in the village of Malešići, when a total of 27 civilians from Skočić were killed in an organized criminal enterprise, writes the Patria news agency.

The mortal remains of the Ribić sisters were found in 2003 in the Crni Vrh mass grave and identified in December 2015. When they were killed, Almasa was four years old, Suada five, Zijada seven, and Zlatija thirteen years old. Ismeta, who was sixteen years old, has not yet been identified. The only surviving family member is Zijad Ribić, who is 31 years old today.

The departure of the bodies from the Tuzla memorial center will take place at 11:30 AM.
