SARAJEVO, (Patria) - Asim Džambasović, brigadier of the Army of the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina and former minister for veterans affairs of Sarajevo Canton passed away last night at the age of 69. The Ministry for Veterans Affairs of Canton Sarajevo announced that they received the news of the death of Brigadier Džambasović with sincere regret.
- The noble heart of the respected brigadier of the Army of RBiH, Bosnian ghazi, organizer of resistance, patriot, former minister and great man Asim Džambasović has stopped beating. It was an honor to know him and work with him - stated the Ministry for Veterans Affairs of Canton Sarajevo.
The funeral of Brigadier Džambasović will be held on Saturday, June 16, 2018 at 5:15 PM at the Grlića brdo cemetery in Sarajevo.
He was born in Kovanje, in the municipality of Rogatica, on June 27, 1949. He completed the Military and Command-Staff Academy in Belgrade.
He was the organizer of the Territorial Defense in the Konjic area, and from June 1992 he was in the Staff in Visoko. Until October 1995, he was the head of the Operations Directorate of the General Staff of the Army of Bosnia and Herzegovina. He is the author of numerous publications, papers and reviews.
He served as the minister for veterans affairs of Canton Sarajevo from November 2012 to April 2013.
